  • I just wanted to send a personal thank you for the wonderful event on Friday. I left feeling thoroughly inspired, filled with knowledge (and food!). A wonderful opportunity to learn and meet others in a similar field.
  • It was great meeting you and thank you for a great day!
  • Excellent teacher/trainer event providing loads of information, resources and a variety of knowledgeable speakers. CPD relevant and the opportunity for great networking. It was brilliant to finally meet Ann who's books were my bible during my teacher training. Now looking forward to getting stuck into Ann and Sharron's new book. I haven’t stopped singing its praises to my colleagues! Elaine Fisher
  • It was a fantastic event. Thank you once again.

  • A great day. This is my third and each time I have learnt and shared more. I have grown in my career role. This day has helped me network and even given me ideas for the future. Amazing! Martin Hipwell
  • Being a trainer for a charity and delivering courses in prison can be isolating on both fronts because we are not part of a wider education network so events like your conference are essential to help us keep up with changes in the sector, and to give us an opportunity to network and feel a part of things. Summary of the event

Aim of the day

The aim of the day was for everyone to have a good time, network with others, and gain knowledge from experts in the sector.

The day went really well with all participants leaving happy and more knowledgeable.

It was great to see people who have attended my previous events, and to meet people who use my books and resources

Everyone had a great time, lots of networking took place and the food and refreshments were plentiful!

There were five sessions

  1. Ash Smith from TQUK Awarding Organisation: Apprenticeships and end-point assessment: what the programmes are about and how the different end-point assessment methods are used. What an awarding organisation expects from centres.
  2. Ann Gravells: Updates within our sector - a quick overview of hot topics, changes, developments and what you can prepare for, for the coming year.
  3. Sharron Mansell: Teaching, learning and assessment approaches: how you can use different and interesting techniques to ensure your learners are engaged and making good progress.
  4. Ann Gravells: Quality, compliance and accountability: how you can ensure you are offering a high quality service and yet remain fully compliant and accountable with all that you do.
  5. Debbie Forsythe-Conroy: What does 'outstanding' look like in a centre? Included an update regarding changes to the Ofsted Common Inspection Framework (CIF) which will become the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework (EIF).

There were eight exhibitors

With thanks to our headline sponsor The White Rose Beauty Colleges for providing the venue.

The exhibitors proved popular and the staff gave lots of great advice and prizes for the quiz.
